Audience

Background An audience is defined as target users characterized by specific attributes and rules. When designing experiments, the the target population can be established through the combination of these audiences.

How to Start Creating Audience

Attributes

To create an attribute, click the "Create" button on the top right corner: image.png

  • Name is required, e.g., age, country.
  • You can select from four types of attributes: String, Number, Boolean, and Version.

Attributes Management Page

On the attributes management page, you can view the names, data types, owners, creation times, and actions of attributes. Additionally, you can search for an attribute by name, description, or owner. Modifying an attribute is not allowed when it is used in an active audience. image (2).png

Audiences

  1. To create an audience, click the "Create" button on the top right corner: image (3).png
  2. Complete the Basic Information: image (4).png ① Name: Required. It can only contain letters, numbers, and underscores. The audience name is unique across the platform under the same project. ② Description: Optional. Describe this audience. ③ Owner: Required. The creator is set as one of the owners by default. You can see the add button after hovering your mouse over this field.
  3. Rules: image (5).png ① Select attribute: Choose the attribute. You can choose pre-created attributes, or quickly create a new attribute. ② Select operator: Different types of attributes will correspond to different operations; more types of operations will be added in the future. ③ Select or add attribute values: You can select or add attribute values. Enter values and press the Enter key to confirm. At present, the attribute values used in an audience are not stored. We will store common attribute values for users to choose in the future. ④ Or conditions: The attributes will execute the "or" condition first. ⑤ And conditions: After executing "or" conditions, "and" conditions will be executed.

Audience Management Page

The function of the audience management page is almost the same as the attributes management page. The only difference is that it is not allowed to modify the audience when used in an active experiment. image (6).png You can click on the name of the audience to view the details: image (7).png
